S1 (Viva Voce) By Nicholas Lee (Incomplete)

S1 (Viva Voce) Part A Question 1:
Steps to solve question 1:

Firstly, you need to list down all known variables;
In this case, AB = (2x+3)cm, AD = (4x-30)cm and DC = (3x-7)cm

According to the diagram, AB = DC which means (2x+3)cm = (3x-7)cm

(i) x would be equal to 3+7=10

(ii) To find the Area of Rectangle ABCD, you must first find the value of the breath of the rectangle, AD.
     Since 1x is 10cm, 4x-30cm is equal to 40cm - 30cm=10cm
     AD = 10cm
     AB = (2*10)+3=23cm
     Area of ABCD = 23*10= 230cm^2

(iii) Before converting, recall that 100cm = 1m; and that we are converting cm^2 to m^2 so after converting 230cm^2 to 2.3, we need to divide it by 100 times again; thus 2.3/100 = 0.023m^2
